About Renee

I see individuals and couples at my home office in the Sunset District of San Francisco. Since 2001, I have specialized in treating addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, personal growth & spiritual direction. I help clients understand and heal the core issues and challenges they face in relationships with others and with themselves. Most dysfunction is a symptom of underlying emotional or spiritual problems. When we shift the root of an issue, the symptom often disolves.

I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with a BA in Communications from Bridgewater College in Massachusetts, and an MA in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California. For 14 years, I trained as a Shamanic Healer and Depth Hypnosis Practitioner with Dr. Isa Gucciardi and the Foundation of the Sacred Stream in Berkeley.

With warmth, humor and my own practical experience, I will teach you how to align with your highest self, release negative and limiting patterns and beliefs, access your personal power and manifest your unique gifts and talents in all areas of your life: mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, professional, relational, creative and sexual.

I have two children, a supportive husband and a very nice dog. Born and raised in the Boston area, I moved to San Francisco in 1999 to pursue graduate work in psychology. An expert in addiction and co-dependency treatment, I have personal experience with substance abuse and long term recovery from alcohol, drugs, food and sex/love addiction. I often say that I became a therapist because I have done so much therapy myself.

I have been leading spiritual retreats and workshops on personal growth and relationship for over 20 years, both in Boston and the Bay Area.

My work draws on many psychological and spiritual traditions. I use a holistic, body, mind, spirit approach to healing and draw from a variety of both eastern and western approaches, including the work of Carl Jung, Scott Peck and John Bradshaw. I consider myself a mystic, one who seeks direct contact with the Divine in all it’s aspects and expressions. God has many names and I honor them all, as each person approaches and understands the Universe in their own unique way.

A cultural Catholic growing up, I have also studied Buddism with Thich Naht Hanh, had a deep Hatha Yoga practice and have been involved in Jewish Culture through a variety of circumstances. My 14 years of studying Shamanism with the Foundation of the Sacred Stream in Berkeley and graduate work in Ancestral Ways of Knowing have grounded me in ancient wisdom traditions. Recently, I have begun to learn about Chinese Medicine and to explore the Hindu mythology. Ever a student of life, I seek to grow in wisdom and compassion and to connect with the underlying Truths that are found in all philosophies and religions.

I believe that if we straighten out spiritually and energetically, we naturally heal physically, mentally and emotionally.
